Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. Below you can read information about me and my yoga practice. Please use the menu to find out about the yoga classes I'm currently teaching. In addition to teaching yoga, I am a Naturopathic Nutritionist, you can find more about this via the menu. Then there's my blog.
I'm interested to hear from people if they would like evening yoga classes.
My dad introduced me to yoga at the young age of eleven. It helped me through dance training in my teens. Ever since, it's finding the stillness through yoga, the settling of the mind, "Yoga citta vritti nirodah", that I always return to in my life.
I first trained with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Madrid and later with the Devon School of Yoga UK including their in-depth Yoga Therapy course. Further training with Fenella Lindsell, Yoga'd Up and Yoga Bugs, London. Later with Vijay Kumar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Mysore India. Most recently Yoga Beyond, Advanced Yin and Restorative Yoga with Yulia Croft in Devon. I have practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa extensively, completing primary and secondary series. I continue to develop my own, daily personal practice.
Altogether I have nearly forty years of teaching experience from dance, mainstream education and yoga itself, which I started teaching in 2006. Currently I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, restorative, one to one Yoga and yoga therapy.
To ensure inclusivity and to avoid injuries, experience has taught me to add variations to suit my students individual needs. It's not about making the perfect shapes, it's about working with an acceptance of our own individuality within the context of yoga as described in the yoga sutras of Patanjali.
I believe practicing yoga regularly can support a healthier and more balanced way of life.
